Creating from Your Soul’s Truth — The Soul’s Journey, Part 5

There comes a moment on every soul’s journey when remembering who we are (Parts 1 & 2) and reconnecting to the sacred within (Parts 3 & 4) naturally leads us to this question:

“Now that I remember… how do I live from this truth?”

Welcome to Part 5 of The Soul’s Journey: Creating from Your Soul’s Truth. In this part we explore what it really means to live in alignment with your soul — and how to begin taking intentional, inspired action that reflects your deepest truths.

What Is Soul Alignment?

Living in alignment isn’t about having all the answers or making perfect choices. It’s about living in integrity with your inner truth.

When you’re soul-aligned, your outer life — actions, decisions, relationships — reflects your inner knowing, values, and purpose. There’s a natural rightness you feel. It doesn’t mean life is always easy, but it does mean your energy flows freely in the direction of growth, joy, and meaning.

A Personal Reflection: Trusting My Soul’s Call

Years ago, I made the choice to leave everything familiar behind and move from Utah to Arizona. It was one of the biggest leaps of faith I’ve ever taken.

At the time, my life in Utah was “fine” on the surface — stable, predictable, even comfortable. But inside, I started to feel restless, uninspired, and boxed in. It was like I was living on autopilot, following expectations that no longer felt true for me.

I didn’t have language for it then, but I was out of alignment.

I felt my spirit shrinking in ways I couldn't explain:

  • The routine predictability that once felt safe began to feel stifling

  • My creative spark was dull, and joy felt muted

  • I craved new experiences and connections, but found myself staying small to fit the mold around me

  • Even the physical landscape started to feel confining, as if my soul was longing for new horizons

I couldn’t fully understand why it felt so wrong until I honored the pull to move.

Moving to Arizona felt wild and risky. I didn’t know anyone there. I didn’t have a job waiting. I was leaving behind everything familiar. But there was this deep, unshakable knowing in my gut: You’re ready. Trust me.

And so I did.

That single decision honored my core values of freedom, adventure, and joy in a way staying put never could. Even though it was scary, it was the most soul-aligned choice I could make.

Arizona welcomed me with open arms.

  • I fulfilled my lifelong dream of owning horses

  • I launched my spiritual life coaching and equine-assisted coaching businesses

  • I built a new community rooted in authenticity and shared values

  • I experienced personal growth in ways I never imagined

My soul came alive in ways I didn’t know were possible.

It wasn’t without challenges. There were lonely nights, moments of doubt, and lessons I had to learn about myself. But with every step, I felt more me.

That move taught me one of my biggest truths about alignment:

Sometimes you don’t fully realize how misaligned you’ve become until you take the brave step to honor your soul — and feel yourself coming home to who you really are.

Signs You’re Out of Alignment

  • You feel drained or depleted after certain conversations or activities

  • You keep saying yes when your body and intuition scream no

  • You experience constant resistance or “stuckness”

  • Your joy feels absent, dull, or muted

  • You question or judge yourself more than you trust yourself

And when you are aligned?

  • Your body feels lighter, more grounded

  • You say yes to things that energize and expand you

  • You feel a sense of clarity, even if you don’t have all the answers

  • You experience synchronicities and flow

  • You know you’re living in a way that honors your inner truth

Client Story: Reclaiming Alignment Through Small Choices

One of my clients, Alyssa, came to me feeling completely burned out. On paper, her life looked “successful” — a solid job, family, and a full calendar. But inside, she felt hollow.

Each morning, she woke up with a knot in her stomach. She felt invisible in her career, constantly overextended, and secretly longed to pursue a more creative path — but told herself it was impractical.

In one of our sessions, we did a simple body check-in. I asked her to say out loud: “I will keep doing what I’m doing.” Her body leaned back, her shoulders tensed. Then I asked her to say: “I will explore something new.” Her body instantly softened. She exhaled, tears welling up.

That moment of clarity opened the door.

Over the following weeks, Alyssa began making small but intentional changes: carving out time to paint again, saying no to one unnecessary meeting each week, and finally, signing up for a weekend retreat she'd been drawn to for years.

Her joy began to return. Her body started feeling lighter. And she discovered that living in alignment wasn’t about blowing up her life — it was about honoring herself in small, sacred ways every day.

Practice: Ways to Begin to Realign with Your Soul

Here are three powerful ways to begin living in deeper alignment:

1. The Body Check-In: Your body is a tuning fork for truth. Pause. Place your hand on your heart or belly. Ask yourself: Does this feel expansive or contracting? Your body’s response is often clearer than your mind’s.

2. Yes/No Muscle Test: Stand tall with your feet shoulder-width apart. Take a few deep breaths to center yourself.

Ask yourself three clear yes questions (for example, “Is my name [your name]?”). Notice how your body responds each time.

Then ask three clear no questions (for example, “Is my name [a false name]?”). Again, observe what your body does.

Pay attention to the consistent way your body moves or feels in response to yes and no answers. This personal baseline helps you recognize your body’s unique signals when making soul-led decisions.

3. Soul Truth Journaling: Ask yourself, What do I know to be true right now? Write without filtering. Let your soul’s voice rise above the noise.

Weekly Soul Reflection

Take a moment now to breathe deeply, feel into your heart, and ask:

“What’s one small way I can honor my truth this week?”Then commit to taking that one aligned, intentional step — no matter how small it seems. This is how soul-aligned lives are built.
